Sunderland Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
The Community CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) Counselling Service is provided at Community CAMHS bases in Southwick, Hendon and Washington. It is part of an integrated CAMHS team offering support to children and young people aged 5 to 18, who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health throughout the Sunderland area.Contact Info

Children and Young Peoples Service (CYPS)
The Children and Young People’s Service provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in South Tyneside and Sunderland who present with mental health difficulties. This includes children and young people who may have learning difficulties and those living in a range of difficult and challenging circumstances.

Kooth
Kooth Is an online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people aged 10-25, accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop.
Young people simply need to visit Kooth (www.kooth.com) and sign up. Once signed up you will be able to access the following:
- Chat with a team of professional counsellors and wellbeing practitioners who are available 365 days a year, midday to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 6pm to 10pm at weekends.
- Magazine – A place where young people can read and contribute helpful articles, personal experiences and tips from other young people.
- Moderated Discussion Boards – Young people can start or join a conversation with the Kooth community about what is on their mind in a safe way.
- Personal tools – Journals, goal setting tools and mini activities to help young people feel good and track progress.

Washington Mind
Washington Mind is a local charity providing mental health and wellbeing support, services and training for the local community. They also have a dedicated young peoples project which offers 1-1 counseling and group work for young people aged 11+ who live within the City of Sunderland.

Sunderland Mind
Sunderland Mind are an independent charity providing confidential, high quality services for individuals, carers and families experiencing emotional or mental health problems.
They provide several groups aimed at young people including a;
- Girls club aimed at girls aged 11-17 to meet new people and grow their friendships. Every week they plan new fun activities, challenges and games to build confidence and self-esteem.
- Junior Club which is a safe and fun place for young people aged 7-11 to meet. We work together using games and challenges to build confidence and friendships. We also love to expand our skills through cooking and crafty activities.

Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage
Together for Children Sunderland and North East and North Cumbria ICB have partnered with BFB Labs to offer free access to Lumi Nova. Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage is a digital therapeutic intervention that helps with the symptoms of worries or anxiety for children aged 7-12 years, helping them learn skills to self-manage their worries in an engaging intergalactic adventure game (app).

Young Minds is the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health. They provide young people with tools to look after their mental health.
Their website is full of advice and information on what to do if you're struggling with how you feel.
