Dr Claire Bracewell, Rheumatology Department, Sunderland Royal Hospital
On the 14th February we visited the Rheumatology Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital to present Dr Claire Bracewell with a Healthwatch Sunderland Star Award.
Dr Bracewell was nominated by one of her patients, who said;
“Dr Bracewell takes the time to listen to you, which is a rare occurrence these days unfortunately. I have been under the Royal for many years with rheumatoid arthritis. Nothing is sidelined and you don’t feel you are being fobbed off. I can phone the department when my condition gets too much and I able to get an appointment and receive help. Dr Bracewell has a lovely manner and makes me feel at ease. Well done!”
Dr C Bracewell responded to receiving her award and said;
“I'm delighted to have received this, thank you. I'm grateful to have had some positive feedback from one of our patients and feel it is a reflection of how hard the whole department works; from the admin staff to the nurses and the whole medical team.”
