Ashlea Lodge Care Home
It was our great pleasure to present staff member, Cathy Broder from Ashlea Lodge Care Home, with her Healthwatch Sunderland Star award on Monday 15th January 2024.
Cathy was nominated for her award by 3 individuals, a resident of the home and 2 family members. The resident said;
“I nominate Cathy, she takes a lot of care of me.”
One of the family members said;
“Cathy is a happy, smiling carer. If you feel down, she will make you feel better with her true northern humour.”
When Cathy received her award, she said;
“I would like to thank the resident’s and family members who have nominated her for this award. She really appreciates this award and is really surprised and thankful for being nominated.”
The registered manager of the home, Gillian Varley said;
“It was lovely to have a positive outcome for our home and although Cathy is quite shy she really deserves the recognition.”
